Job Summary
The Vice President, Story will play a critical role at Reverba, leading the Story team in the development of content on behalf of Reverba clients – top-tier biomedical and pharmaceutical companies. The VP, Story will lead a team that conducts interviews with patients and caregivers to understand their healthcare journeys and produces profiles, videos and other content that aligns those journeys with client messaging objectives. They will provide coaching and guidance to team members who engage directly with patients and caregivers on how to optimally articulate their stories for public speaking engagements, video shoots, media interviews, and a variety of other activities.
The VP, Story also oversees the development of patient-facing recruitment, onboarding, and program materials in alignment with client requirements and supervises the shepherding of those materials through clients’ Medical, Regulatory and Legal (MRL) review processes, including management of submissions into MLR document management platforms.
The VP, Story will be an exceptional leader who has significant experience leading content and creative teams in the bio-pharmaceutical space, has proven experience driving quality and efficiency initiatives, and has the ability to create and implement a vision for expanding our creative footprint and implementing new solutions, including AI.
In addition to managing the Story team, the VP, Story will provide expert consultation to Reverba clients, as well as other leaders, regarding innovative content development and deployment solutions. This position requires up to 20% travel.
Essential Job Functions
- Lead an expanding team of writers and video producers who capture patient and caregiver stories, align those stories with client objectives, and produce impactful market-ready deliverables.
- Create efficiencies and support quality by identifying new tools and processes to collect and deploy patient and caregiver content.
- Support team in execution of complex or novel work; be willing to own work streams as needed to mitigate capacity gaps.
- Maintain a deep understanding of scoped work and the new business pipeline and ensure adequate resources are in place to fulfill.
- Track and meet existing department KPIs and identify new ways to measure success.
- Ensure team understands and is following Reverba SOPs and associated compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with leaders in Product, Reach, and Engage to identify interdepartmental efficiencies and enhancements.
- Support Client Partner, Strategy & Growth, and New Business teams in conceptualizing and pitching innovative content initiatives that uniquely showcase patient and caregiver experiences.
- Work with leadership to identify strategic initiatives for Story focused on Growth, Quality and Culture and ensure alignment with team performance measures.
Minimum Qualifications
- B.A. in English, Journalism, Public Relations or a related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least ten years of biopharmaceutical agency experience leading content and/or creative teams to deliver exceptional work
- Deep understanding of biopharmaceutical content compliance regulations and experience working with client MRL teams and review processes
- Demonstrated passion for elevating the patient and caregiver perspective across traditional and emerging channels
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong people skills and the ability to work with, manage and mentor a wide range of people
- Ability to define and manage internal processes efficiently and effectively from start to finish
- Ability to anticipate and solve problems
- “Can-do” attitude; ability to work quickly under deadlines to meet client needs
- Highest level of professional courtesy, mutual respect and ethics
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of services
Work Environment
This job operates in a remote environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
