Tuesday Health is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Vice President of Clinical Operations to serve as a key member of our team. With matrixed accountability to the Head of Product and Operations and Head of Clinical Delivery, the Vice President is responsible for building and leading a team of nurses, social workers, and community health workers. The role is responsible for overseeing the execution of the clinical model. Additionally, the Vice President is responsible for managing the performance of palliative provider partners when applicable. The role will be accountable for contractual compliance and achievement of clinical, quality, and member satisfaction goals.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, early-stage company and have the experience to be able to manage clinical operations as the company scales. Although based remotely the position requires regular onsite meetings. Eastern and Central time zones are preferred.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead clinical operations for Tuesday Health’s clinical team and its palliative provider partners across markets.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, including resource allocation, scheduling, and capacity planning.
  • Deploy the clinical model to include assessments, care plans, policies and procedures, and trainings for the Tuesday Health clinical team and clinical delivery partners.
  • Refine processes and workflows to drive scalability and efficiency.
  • Develop and monitor dashboards/metrics to allow for measurement and improvement of patient outcomes and reduction of unproductive medical spend.
  • Manage and improve the performance of clinical staff and network delivery partners through case conferences and operational metrics.
  • Build staffing models to encompass both Tuesday Health and network partner team members; hire and lead an interdisciplinary clinical team providing supportive care.
  • Support innovation efforts by serving as an operational thought partner to the Vice President, Clinical Products & Solutions.
  • Implement evidence-based practices and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure that internal performance goals are set and reviewed and that these goals support the overall corporate mission and values while also being responsive to local community needs.
  • Actively participate in program compliance monitoring and work with appropriate departments to ensure both quality and clinical compliance standards are met.
  • Understand and review State, Federal, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) Regulations that pertain to business development, partners, and practice.
  • Identify and mitigate clinical risks, including adverse events and patient complaints.

What We Are Looking For

  • 10+ years of progressive clinical experience in healthcare management, operations, and program development.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Social Work, or other 4-year clinical degree required, Masters preferred.
  • 5+ years of palliative care or hospice experience required.
  • Expertise with clinical service products (e.g., care management, care coordination, and performance improvement, etc.) required.
  • Experienced leader with a proven track record of building strong and effective teams.
  • Experience using analytics, metrics, and user feedback to drive strategy, execution, and process improvement.
  • Ability to implement clinical programs with clear demonstration of results.
  • Strong knowledge of CMS programs, processes (e.g., risk adjustment), regulations, and measures (e.g., HEDIS and Stars ratings) strongly preferred.
  • Experience growing business by understanding customer insights and competitive intelligence.
  • Experience managing a team, with interdisciplinary team leadership strongly preferred.
