The VP, Clinical Excellence role is accountable for ensuring Included Health’s clinical products and services are high-quality, safe, and deliver clear value for our members, clients, prospects and the broader healthcare ecosystem. A synthesizer and narrative-builder, this leader oversees the Clinical Quality and Safety team, the Clinical Affairs team, and the Health Outcomes and Economic Research arm of the organization. From each of these lenses, the VP, Clinical Excellence must assess the performance of our clinical products and services, shining light upon areas of meaningful impact and value creation for clients, prospects, and external audiences and offering synthesized insights to operational leaders about opportunities for programmatic refinement and strategic innovation. This powerful perspective ensures we are delivering on the holistic, integrated, impactful vision of care that is core to Included Health.

This individual will report into the Senior Vice President, Clinical Services, and will work closely with senior-level Clinical, Care, and Go-to-Market partners on setting and executing against our Growth, Value, and Experience strategies. The VP, Clinical Excellence will be a critical senior clinical voice for Included Health in the market, representing our products, services, and vision and supporting key strategic growth and operational initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Represent Included Health's products, clinicians, and clinical vision in external meetings with prospects, clients, and at industry and other conferences and forums
  • Synthesize insights from the industry and market and from our internal safety and quality monitoring into actionable insights and recommendations to guide operational improvement and clinical innovation
  • Orchestrate a Clinical Affairs and Health Outcomes and Economic Research strategy that highlights Included Health’s clinical innovation and value generation, in academic, industry, and other external venues
  • Effectively scale the Clinical Affairs team to meet the needs of existing and future Included Health clients
  • Drive a culture of quality and safety within the Clinical organization and with key Data, Engineering, General Management, Care, and Product partners
  • Scale the measurement and monitoring of quality across new products and services and ensure quality and safety risks are appropriately mitigated
  • Keep informed on innovation in the healthcare ecosystem and educate internal Included Health stakeholders on this while articulating Included Health’s role within it and/or in changing it

Required Qualifications

  • A current unrestricted license to practice medicine as MD or DO12+ years professional experience
  • 5+ years professional post-residency experience in direct patient care
  • 7+ years experience in an upper management or executive role leading service, quality programs spanning clinicians and non-clinician teams
  • Ability to and flexibility to accommodate travel (with heaviest travel February through June)
  • Demonstrated success in developing and managing cross-functional teams in complex organizational environments

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with leadership in a virtual environment preferred
  • Experience partnering across Clinical, Product, and Member Services in an integrated care setting that delivers whole person services preferred
  • Master's degree in Healthcare or Business Administration (MHA/MBA), or similar educational background in leadership, would be beneficial
  • Knowledge/experience in broader US healthcare ecosystem and/or US health policy a plus
  • Experience with population health analytics and/or research design and execution would be particularly helpful

  • Ability to travel and represent Included Health in various market and external venues
  • Comfort with public speaking in small, intermediate, and large audience environments
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced, innovative environment
  • Insatiable intellectual curiosity and desire for lifelong learning
  • Ability for prolonged sitting or standing at a computer workstation

The United States new hire base salary target range for this full-time position is:

$237,170 - $335,000 + equity + benefits

This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for candidates. Below is additional information on Included Health's commitment to maintaining transparent and equitable compensation practices across our distinct geographic zones.

Starting base salary for the successful candidate will depend on several job-related factors, unique to each candidate, which may include, but not limited to, education; training; skill set; years and depth of experience; certifications and licensure; business needs; internal peer equity; organizational considerations; and alignment with geographic and market data. Compensation structures and ranges are tailored to each zone's unique market conditions to ensure that all employees receive fair and competitive compensation based on their roles and locations.

In addition to earning a base salary, this role is eligible for a performance-based bonus. Details of the Annual Bonus Plan, including performance metrics, target incentives, and potential earnings, will be discussed during the interview process.
