What You’ll Do
As a Vice President and Associate General Counsel, you will be responsible for handling legal matters assigned by the VP Managing Counsel including, without limitation, corporate, employment,litigation, healthcare operational and regulatory matters, quality of care matters, governance andboard-related matters, securities compliance, physician and business arrangements, environmental matters, and transactional matters such as mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and syndications. This position may have supervisory responsibilities, as determined by the General Counsel.
Responsibilities
To ensure awareness of and compliance with all applicable laws and company policies and procedures.
To directly provide legal advice and support to multiple hospitals throughout the United States and to various departments within the corporate headquarters.
To supervise and direct outside counsel retained on behalf of the company or one or more of its subsidiaries or affiliates.
To supervise or coach paralegals and less experienced lawyers in the Legal Department, subject to the direction of the General Counsel.
To fulfill duties and responsibilities assigned or delegated from time-to-time by the General Counsel.
Performs other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need
EDUCATION: Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience including but not limited to corporate and transactional law, labor and employment law, and healthcare operational and regulatory law.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: License Attorney in the State of Tennessee
