The Vice President, Accounts leads members of the agency’s talented account team and develops, nurtures, and maintains ongoing client relationships while gaining a deep knowledge of clients’ business needs. In collaboration with agency colleagues, the VP, Accounts oversees the execution of best-in-class marketing solutions to meet or exceed client goals. The VP has the primary responsibility for the operations of his/her client service team, with specific focus on ensuring that client’s needs are met by mentoring, monitoring, and guiding the client service team’s activities, overseeing process, revenue stream/growth, and project profitability, as well as leading/managing key projects directly.

This position reports directly to the President of CCA.

As our VP, Accounts, you will:

  • Manage a client services team, developing the skills, knowledge, and abilities required to meet the needs of the agency
  • Oversee client service teams engaged in the strategic development and implementation of brand development campaigns, research projects, and integrated marketing programs, including media, print, direct mail and digital strategies
  • Provide strategic direction/recommendations to clients and the internal team
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients as well as internal team members
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure that all client contact and services work adheres to the highest quality standards
  • Lead meetings, ensuring attendance and participation and record keeping
  • Direct and oversee account management policies, objectives, and initiatives
  • Resolve, with account team, escalated customer service issues
  • Develop and maintain project budgets and revenue targets for all client contracts
  • Ensure accurate invoicing and maintenance of financial reports for all client accounts
  • Provide cross-functional teams with well-documented client feedback and project assets, as required
  • Support new business development for the agency through preparation of and participation in, proposals, presentations, and agency client contract negotiations
  • Identify, pursue, and secure opportunities for revenue growth within the agency’s current client base
  • Travel, as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned


You have:

  • 12-16 years of relevant work experience, with 6-8 years managing a team or department, and 6-8 years working in a manager or project lead capacity at a marketing and/or advertising agency
  • BA/BS degree required, degree in Marketing/Advertising a plus
  • Familiarity with project management software such as Workamajig, Wrike, and Basecamp
  • Experience in agency branding and knowledge of traditional and digital media platforms, content strategy, and an understanding of brand campaign development
  • Expert client engagement and relationship management skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization, develop and motivate talent, inspire innovation, and lead a team to achieve high impact results
  • Proven capabilities in identifying and managing nuanced, cross-departmental needs across multiple teams and stakeholders
  • Higher education marketing and advertising experience is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Google Workspace (Docs, Slides, Sheets)
  • Ability to work effectively in dynamic, rapidly changing, team-based environment
