Great Road Veterinary Hospital is actively looking for an experienced veterinary technician who is looking to advance their skills and take their knowledge to the next level. The ideal candidate knows how to and is willing to be a positive and supportive team player. They will be confident in their veterinary technician skills and have confidence in the daily task of a veterinary technician, being able to assist in surgery, be able to help monitor surgery patients, help with surgical recovery, assist with prepping patients and anything else needed to assist the veterinarian during surgical procedures would be an advantage.
The ideal candidate will know how to load rooms, take history, place IV catheters, draw blood and run bloodwork, use in-clinic laboratory equipment, have knowledge of x-ray and proper positioning and measurement, have experience with gentle and proper animal handling and restraint, able to dispense and administer medication prescribed by the veterinarian. The veterinary industry is constantly advancing and Great Road encourages and supports its staff to do the same. 2+ years of prior veterinary technician experience
Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Able to multi-task efficiently
Understand the importance of client education
