The College of Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Medical Center seeks a Veterinary Assistant to join the Large Animal team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to assist in the provision of care to ill and injured animals as well as providing assistance to clinicians, staff and professional students in the day to day operations of the Veterinary Medical Center. Primary responsibilities include providing basic patient care functions, assisting with patient assessment, restraint, and treatments; monitoring patients and notifying higher level technician or veterinarian of any unusual changes or symptoms; transporting patients within the Veterinary Medical Center; stocking supplies including feed, medical supplies and equipment; cleaning and disinfecting treatment areas, animals housing units, adjacent areas and supporting equipment following prescribed sanitation procedures and observing rules of epidemiology to prevent spread of disease; walking patients and providing clean housing, food, and water at all times; performing daily cleaning of outdoor areas and VMC entrances as well as all animal areas including windows, floors, light covers, ledges, hallways, vents, receiving rooms etc.

Hiring Range - $18.00 - $20.66 per hour
