A Veterinary Assistant supports the Veterinarian(s), Veterinary Nurse(s) and other assistants in all aspects of veterinary medicine and patient care. This typically entails overlapping responsibilities to a Pilina Vet Nurse, and supporting Vet Nurses with their daily tasks, running appointments, and animal restraint & handling.
A Veterinary Assistant must exhibit excellent communication skills with both clients and team members; have a compassionate and caring nature; exhibit confidence working with and handling various demeanors, sizes and temperaments of our cat and dog patients; be able to work as part of a team, yet be confident working independently; be able to make quick, appropriate decisions when under pressure, and have great attention to detail. Veterinary assistants are expected to maintain respectful relationships with veterinary professionals within our community.
