Venture Capital Portfolio Advisor

Role Overview: As the Venture Capital Portfolio Advisor, you will play a crucial role in providing strategic guidance, operational support, and value-added services to our portfolio companies. You will work closely with investment professionals, portfolio company executives, and external stakeholders to optimize portfolio performance, accelerate growth, and maximize shareholder value.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Portfolio Management and Strategy:
• Serve as a strategic advisor to portfolio company management teams, offering guidance on business strategy, operational efficiencies, and market positioning.
• Collaborate with investment teams to develop and execute strategic initiatives, growth plans, and value creation strategies tailored to each portfolio company’s unique needs.
• Operational Support and Execution:
• Conduct operational assessments, identify key performance drivers, and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency, scalability, and profitability.
• Provide hands-on support in areas such as financial management, business development, sales strategy, product roadmap, and talent acquisition to drive sustainable growth.
• Financial Analysis and Performance Monitoring:
• Monitor portfolio company financial performance, key performance indicators (KPIs), and operational metrics to track progress against strategic goals and investment thesis.
• Conduct financial analysis, sensitivity analysis, and scenario modeling to assess financial health, valuation, and investment returns.
• Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
• Foster strong relationships with portfolio company executives, board members, and external advisors to facilitate open communication, alignment on strategic priorities, and decision-making.
• Prepare and present regular performance updates, strategic recommendations, and board materials to senior management, investment committees, and limited partners (LPs).
• Value Creation Initiatives:
• Identify value creation opportunities, potential partnerships, and strategic alliances to enhance market presence, competitive positioning, and revenue growth for portfolio companies.
• Support portfolio companies in executing M&A transactions, strategic partnerships, and corporate development initiatives that drive incremental value and market differentiation.
• Risk Management and Mitigation:
• Assess risks and challenges impacting portfolio company operations and growth prospects, and develop risk mitigation strategies to protect and enhance shareholder value.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and market developments to proactively address potential risks and opportunities for portfolio companies.
  

Skills And Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in venture capital, private equity, management consulting, or strategic advisory roles with a focus on portfolio management and value creation.
• Proven track record of successfully advising and supporting early-stage or growth-stage companies in achieving strategic objectives, operational improvements, and financial performance goals.
• Strong financial acumen with experience in financial modeling, valuation analysis, and investment decision-making.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across organizational levels.
• Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving, decision-making, and opportunity identification.
