We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Vendor Relationships Director to lead our vendor management function. In this critical role, you will oversee the development and execution of a comprehensive vendor management strategy that fosters strong, mutually beneficial relationships with our key vendors. This role will drive significant growth and market expansion through our network of partners. You will build and nurture strategic relationships with existing and new vendors, ensuring success and maximizing contribution to our overall sales and retention goals.
Essential Job Responsibilities Include:
- Develop a data-driven vendor strategy aligned with overall business objectives and market dynamics.
- Identify and develop high-performing vendor partners who complement our product/service portfolio and expand our market reach.
- Foster strong, collaborative relationships with vendor partners, acting as a trusted advisor and advocate for our company.
- Manage channel partner performance through regular communication and reporting.
- Track and analyze performance metrics to measure program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement, including monitoring SLAs, identifying and addressing issues, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and implement strategies to address channel conflict and ensure a smooth collaboration between internal teams and partners.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.
- Prepare reports and presentations on performance and program initiatives.
- Negotiate and finalize contracts with vendors, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies in vendor selection and management.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive vendor management database.

- Maintain high levels of communication and coordination, sustaining a strong culture of collaboration, accountability, and customer-orientation.
Required Skills / Experience:
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience
- 5+ years of experience in Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) environment
- Bachelor’s degree is required, advanced degree preferred
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful vendor management strategies.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to present complex information, utilizing storytelling techniques to communicate a clear, compelling, and cohesive story and customize to audience
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with contract management and risk mitigation strategies.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration.
- Travel up to 40% is required.
- This position may work from our Birmingham, AL headquarters or remotely from home.
