Summary of the opportunity
Client Overview: We are hiring for a respected technology company that specializes in a large team collaboration and communication application. The company values innovation, creativity, and providing a productive and efficient user experience.
Role Summary: As a Usability Researcher, you will join a multi-disciplinary Design Team and collaborate with product management and engineers. Your main objective is to define and deliver the next generation of experiences for the team collaboration and communication application. You will employ various research methodologies, work closely with cross-functional teams, and ensure actionable results are implemented.
What are the key responsibilities?
Conduct user research throughout all phases of software development, including field research, usability tests, prototype testing, surveys, and telemetry research
Develop and maintain research plans, driving data into decisions across the product lifecycle
Articulate research findings in clear and compelling ways, translating data into actionable recommendations
Collaborate with designers, engineers, and program managers to garner support for research plans and ensure action is taken on results
Collaborate across disciplines to drive change into products
Work within tight timelines and demonstrate excellent project management skills
Prepare research reports and communicate insights effectively
Prioritize and manage multiple research projects simultaneously
What experience are we looking for to drive success?
Must-Have Skills and Qualifications:
BA/BS (MS preferred) in Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction or a related field, OR significant industry experience
5+ years of industry experience conducting user research with a proven track record of success
Experience with formative and iterative research methods applicable to all product stages
Thorough knowledge and experience across a range of UX research approaches and methodologies
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to collaborate across disciplines and work both independently and as part of a team
Excellent project management skills and ability to work within tight timelines
Previous experience conducting studies with a technical user base is a plus
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
Experience managing UX research knowledge that is leveraged across design and engineering teams
Previous experience in a large enterprise company
Ability to support the entire product cycle
