User Experience Researcher

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled UX Research Vendor to collaborate with our UX Research team on Azure Data products and services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in HCI, Cognitive Psychology, Experimental Psychology, or related fields, with demonstrated expertise in conducting various types of UX studies and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data. This role will primarily support our team in designing and executing research studies to influence product design and direction effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct various UX studies including interviews, needs gathering, journey maps, concept testing, usability testing, and surveys.
• Analyze research data (both qualitative and quantitative) and present findings in a clear and impactful manner.
• Collaborate with internal teams (Design, PM, Engineering) to understand project requirements and deliver actionable insights.
• Handle responsibilities around experimental design, survey programming, and advanced statistical analysis (e.g., regression, clustering).
• Utilize tools such as User Testing, Qualtrics, R, Python, etc., for research projects.
• Assist in data visualization and storytelling to communicate insights effectively.

Qualifications:

• Minimum MA/MS in HCI, Cognitive Psychology, Experimental Psychology, or related fields.
• Proven experience in conducting UX research and analyzing data to influence product design.
• Familiarity with technical environments (e.g., data warehousing, data integration) preferred.
• Strong aptitude for technical complexity and willingness to learn about technical domains.
• Experience with tools such as Power BI, SQL, Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex findings simply and clearly.
