Manage a team of 12 property and revenue accountants, including tracking deadlines, coordinating meetings, and assisting in performance reviews.
Lead team meetings and communicate new processes and procedures.
Assist property and revenue accountants with monthly, quarterly, and daily tasks.
Maintain the relationship between the regional operations group and the accounting group.
Coordinate monthly processes, including GL closing, AP, fee payments, rent processing, and monthly calendar deadlines.
Oversee property accountants' quarterly processes such as accruals, WIP reconciliation, balance sheet lead sheets, and variances.
Manage semi-annual and annual processes including reforecasts, budgets, CAM estimates, and CAM reconciliations.
Ensure delivery of reporting packages to joint venture partners and adherence to internal control policies.
Review items prepared by property accountants, such as wires, rental adjustments, and invoices.
Coordinate with external auditors for interim internal controls testing and year-end substantive testing, manage post-close checklist processes for acquisitions/dispositions, identify and implement process improvements, and collaborate with the Accounting management team.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Over 6 years of experience in property accounting (commercial or industrial)
More than 3 years of experience supervising a team of at least 5 people
Strong attention to detail and ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
CPA or public accounting experience is a plus
Experience with MRI or Yardi software
