About The Role

The Unemployment Specialist serves as the primary owner of the unemployment claims administration process, including but not limited to gathering and compiling documents, preparing written responses to unemployment claims, preparing for cases, and representing the organization at unemployment hearings. This position is the primary contact for both clients and state agencies with regard to all unemployment claims.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service to clients throughout the unemployment process, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Cultivate and nurture professional relationships with state stakeholders and other external contacts to enhance collaboration and support.
  • Contribute to the formulation and execution of the company's overarching strategy, actively participating in its development and implementation.
  • Receive, assess, and process unemployment claims across multiple states, meticulously reviewing each claim for accuracy and compliance.
  • Strategically and promptly respond to all claims, questionnaires, determinations, and hearings, ensuring timely and appropriate action to safeguard client interests.
  • Utilize HRIS system data and other pertinent information to analyze and formulate effective responses to claims, maximizing outcomes.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of state unemployment laws, interpreting, and applying them to ensure adherence and optimize claims outcomes.
  • Collaborate with internal Procare stakeholders to design and implement client-specific reports and procedures tailored to individual needs.
  • Adhere to all state, client, and internal deadlines for responding to claims, maintaining a high level of responsiveness and efficiency.
  • Provide comprehensive training to clients on unemployment processes and strategies, empowering them with the knowledge and tools needed for effective participation.
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to prepare witnesses for hearings, represent clients at hearings, and develop effective hearing strategies to support favorable outcomes.
  • Other duties as assigned.


This Role is a Good Fit if You

  • Preferably hold an associate's degree in human resources, a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Have a least 2 years of experience in unemployment claims processing
  • Possess an in-depth understanding of eligibility criteria, documentation requirements, and appeal processes
  • Are experienced with SIDES (State Information Data Exchange System) or other state response systems
  • Are proficient with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems), UKG Ready preferred
  • Are customer-service focused - we are in the business of caring for people who care for people
  • Ideally, have experience in PEO or HR Shared Services environments

The compensation range for this role is $55,000-$65,000. Actual compensation packages within that range are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth and years of experience, certifications, and specific location.
