This position will start in a fully remote setting, but will transition to a hybrid schedule in June 2025 (3 days/week in office, 2 days/week remote).

Corvus is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to join its growing team. This position is ideal for someone looking to shape their career in the underwriting industry. The role reports to our Senior Manager of Underwriting Operations and will work closely with the underwriting team. Prepare to collaborate with underwriters, brokers and product development team for feedback and processing of internal systems.

Responsibilities

  • Processing new business ad renewal binders, policies and endorsements
  • Assist underwriters with day-to-day requests from brokers
  • Review submission materials and policies, ensuring that they are complete and accurate
  • Frequently interact with brokers to assists with policy maintenance requests in a timely fashion
  • Sign up new brokers to work with the CrowBar, the proprietary software platform of Corvus
  • Maintain account files in accordance with company policy and compliance guidelines
  • Assist underwriters in evaluating risks and determining if certain exposures fall within the scope of Corvus’ underwriting guidelines

What You’ll Bring To The Flock

  • Experience as an underwriting assistant
  • Experience handling broker requests and a familiarity with the submissions process
  • Strong computer skills, including Google Suite and Microsoft Office
  • The ability to work cooperatively in teams and multitask
  • Highly organized with superb attention to detail
  • Strong problem solving and decision making capabilities
  • Deliver excellent customer service by responding promptly to broker queries
  • Customer service-oriented with the ability to work efficiently while paying close attention to detail
  • Strong communication capability with good written skills and excellent verbal skills
  • Adhere to company policies and practices; if they don’t work, suggest an alternative
  • Desire to learn about new technology and interest in commercial insurance
  • P&C commercial insurance underwriting and/or sales experience is a plus

Compensation Range: $55K - $70K
