Job Description
As an Underwriter, you will play a pivotal role in our underwriting process, conducting thorough risk assessments, credit analyses, and loan approvals. Collaborating closely with senior management, you will develop and implement underwriting policies and procedures that align with our strategic goals and risk tolerance. Additionally, you will manage our loan portfolio to ensure alignment with company objectives and drive operational efficiencies across our underwriting and loan operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitate the underwriting process, including detailed financial analysis and modeling.
Develop and implement underwriting policies, procedures, and best practices.
Manage the current loan portfolio in alignment with company goals.
Drive operational excellence by optimizing systems, processes, and workflows.
Skills And Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA) preferred.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in underwriting or a related field within the financial services industry. Experience in the cannabis industry or specialty finance is advantageous.
Proven track record of successful underwriting to achieve business objectives.
Strong understanding of credit risk analysis, loan underwriting principles, and financial regulations.
Knowledge of the legal cannabis market's unique challenges and opportunities is a plus.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.
