Job Summary
Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Ultrasound Sonographer to join our partner, a renowned Level III Trauma Center located in Lawton, OK. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures to assist in the diagnosis of medical conditions and diseases.
Key Responsibilities
Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations on patients as directed by physicians.
Evaluate images for technical quality, proper positioning, and adequate coverage of the area of interest.
Maintain patient records and report findings to the appropriate medical staff.
Assist in the development of new diagnostic procedures and protocols.
Ensure equipment is well-maintained and in good working order.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
Educate patients about the procedures to be performed, providing reassurance and support.
Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control policies.
Qualifications
Certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in at least one advanced certification, with a preference for two certifications.
Certification in Basic Life Support (CPR) within 7 days of employment.
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a trauma or acute care setting.
Strong knowledge of anatomy, pathology, and ultrasound physics.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
