Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Plan, Organize, and Direct Information Technology activities for Citizens Medical Center. Manage/Coach staff in a single facility setting that has multiple remote locations that are connected via WAN. Develop/Coordinate policies and procedures operations departmentally/facility wide to provide quality service. Foster development and maintenance of an environment where exceptional quality is achieved, recognized, and continuously improved upon. Develop annual budgets, quality goal objectives, and operate within such guidelines. Actively participate in numerous committees to further our patient care objectives within the organization. Provide short and long-range strategic plans to administration that assure our organization will maintain its reputation as a leader in technology and cost effective automation.

Day-to-day performance complies with the hospital s Service Excellence Behavioral Expectations.
Performs within the prescribed limits of the hospital s Ethics, Compliance and Confidentiality Program guidelines.

Educational Requirements
Required: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science and/or Management Information Systems.
Experience

Job Specific
- Demonstrates effective leadership of the Information Technology department.
- Develops and manages the capital budget as it relates to the area of Information Technology.
- Oversees the development, procurement, and deployment of computer systems.
- Consults with hospital management personnel to define boundaries and priorities of tentative projects.
- Confers with hospital Department Managers involved with proposed projects to insure cooperation and to further define the nature of projects.
- Displays a polite, considerate, and professional manner, indicating concern and interest with patients, visitors, employees, and peers.
- Develops, reviews, and revises (as required), complies with, and enforces hospital and department policies and procedures.
- Determines the quantity, qualifications, and competence of department personnel required to fulfill department obligations.
- Determines the resources (equipment, supplies, space, etc.) necessary to carry out the functions of the department.
- Assists in the preparation of the department s operating and capital budgets, and manages the operations of the department within the APPROVED budget.
- Assures that department employees attend general orientation, provides for department- and job-specific orientation, assesses and assures competency, provides for education/in-services when need(s) identified, and conducts timely performance evaluations.
- Complies with applicable regulatory agency guidelines, and federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations.
- Develops and carries out departmental goals and objectives in conjunction with the hospital s mission, strategic plans, and other identified needs, as well as in the planning, supervising, and coordinating and directing the activities of the department.
- Communicates with peers and staff, and integrates, coordinates, and collaborates services intra- and interdepartmentally to promote efficient and effective operations within the hospital.
- Maintains professional growth and development through attendance at seminars and workshops, participation in professional affiliations, and reviewing applicable, current literature.
- Participates in hospital committees, hospital sponsored programs and activities, and civic community activities, as requested.
- Maintains necessary quality control programs.
- As appropriate, participates in selecting outside sources for needed services.
