About the job:

Kent is looking for a Turnover Lead to be based in Beaumont, TX. This individual reports to the Commissioning Manager (Turnover) and will interact with Company and Contractor construction teams to ensure that all systems are mechanically complete and commissioned prior to handover to the Start-Up Team. Manages contractor completions team of 6. Responsible for coordination and leadership of the turnover and handover process/team.

Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates with Construction Contractor to ensure efficient and safe execution of MC and turnover.
  • Engages with contractor for arrangement of MC walkdowns / punchlist development and ensures the Contractor rectifies “A" punchlist items in a timely/orderly fashion to meet scheduled turnover dates. Ensures final-approved system punch lists are input into the CMS database.
  • Coordinates review and approval of Contractor's procedures for Mechanical Completion dossiers and turnover activities.
  • Liaise with contractor to understand and facilitate the transition from area construction to system MC turnover and this meets agreed project schedule/handover dates.
  • Interfaces with Planning and Construction to assist in meeting scheduled MC dates.
  • Provides key interface with Commissioning Leads to ensure that commissioning check sheets are accurately completed and are submitted in a timely manner to the TO/HO Support to meet handover dates.
  • Responsibility for review and verification of TCP documentation, check sheets, punch lists, as-builts, etc, to facilitate handover to Operations.
  • Verifies all sign-offs of TCP Dossiers and coordinates handover to Start-Up team.
  • Monitors development, population and maintenance of the CMS database and ensures that it is up to date and includes current/correct data from Engineering and that tags are correctly tied/linked to each system (through boundary drawings).
  • Supports the SC database administrator with database updates/changes via the change control procedure.
  • Interfaces with Engineering to ensure engineering data is updated in accordance with revision updates of key documents, i.e., cable schedules, instrument index, line list, etc.
  • Provide MC and commissioning progress updates to the Commissioning Superintendent.

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience: Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:

  • College / University degree and/or technical diploma and 10+ years of systems completions experience.
  • Previous successful leadership experience working in Mechanical Completion and Commissioning environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of an electronic Systems Completions database management system.
  • In-depth knowledge of Project Completion standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria. As well as facilities commissioning and Start-Up operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop successful working relationships and become a team player.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite of software programs.
  • Read, write, and speak fluent English, especially as required to function effectively within a project team and to communicate with project management, contractors, and sub-contractors.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and guide team members towards achieving common goals and objectives. Demonstrates integrity, confidence, and decisiveness in leadership approach.
  • Skill in identifying, addressing, and resolving conflicts or disagreements within the team in a fair and constructive manner. Facilitates healthy discussions and promotes mutual understanding and cooperation.
  • Sets clear performance expectations, regularly monitors progress, and provides ongoing feedback and recognition to team members. Addresses performance issues promptly and fairly, and identifies opportunities for improvement
