Treatment Plant Operator I- Wastewater

The City of Pearland, TX is seeking to hire a full-time Treatment Plant Operator I - Wastewater to lead and improve aspects of the day-to-day operations of our Utilities department.

The Treatment Plant Operator I-Wastewater earns a competitive salary of $20.58 - $22.27/hourly based on qualifications. Additionally, the city pays all premiums for our employees' dental, long-term disability protection, and life insurance plus the majority portion of the medical premium for employees and their dependents. A DAY IN THE LIFE AS THE TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR I - WASTEWATER

  • Samples and monitors and performs testing required to maintain compliance with federal, state and local regulations governing the wastewater treatment process and storm water and sludge management.
  • Performs all work in conformance to Occupational Safety and Health Act Regulations.
  • Collects wastewater plant samples and runs onsite lab testing per TCEQ regulations.
  • Walks the plant to collect data from hour meters, physically check pumps for proper operation, start centrifuge for sludge processing, and look/find issues and address them.
  • Performs maintenance on wastewater plant equipment and performs basin maintenance.

Requirements

  • Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent.
  • Requires two years wastewater operation or closely related experience.

Special Certifications And Licenses

  • Valid Texas Driver's License
  • Class D Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators License
  • Class C Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators License (Preferred)
