Summary of position:

Treasury Management Officer is the primary sales resource in Treasury Management focused on deposit and treasury relationships; new and existing. Maintains contact with top and high priority prospects and customers. Also, supports the business development and customer expansion efforts of the Commercial Banking Teams.


Key job functions: (Includes current duties, primary objectives, and responsibilities which are critical to the successful performance of the position)

• Develops new business within targeted industries and prospects.

• Develops new business with existing clients to broaden and deepen the relationships.

• Consistently meets deposit and product adoption goals. This position requires a high level of qualified in-person calling activity.

• Performs general sales activity primarily related to developing new prospective relationships.

• Develops prospecting strategies and call plans required to consistently achieve deposit and product adoption goals.

• Complete account reviews and requests for proposals

• Active in general marketing activity as required for trade shows and other targeted industry events.

• Ability to learn and develop an advanced working knowledge for all treasury management, merchant services, and credit card products to support banking locations

• Work with banking locations to cultivate and serve their treasury management portfolio

• Work with bankers to engage new prospects and current business customers

• Promote productive calling efforts to cross-sell to existing and prospective customers


Qualifications:

• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced, diverse, and growth-oriented environment

• Able to conduct and support external sales calls to new and existing customers

• Able to acquire an understanding of Sovereign Bank’s products and services

• Must demonstrate a professional business image and demeanor with customers

• Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing

• Work well under stress and deadlines while managing multiple tasks

• Critical thinking skills


Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree required.

• 5+ plus years of banking experience preferred


Physical Demands: These physical demands are generally representative of the position.

• Hearing, speech, close vision

• Sitting, including computer use

• Driving with own transportation to other locations for meetings/workshops etc.

• On occasions, may be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

• Job responsibilities may include standing, walking, lifting, kneeling, and crouching
