About The Role

FTI Consulting, Inc., a $3.0B public company, is looking for mission-focused, strategic and process-minded individual to help manage the company's global corporate travel program. The role of the Travel Manager is essential to ensure a seamless experience for travelers while adhering to FTI Consulting's policies. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of travel, sourcing, operations and service delivery. This individual will report to the Director of Global Travel on a day to day basis.

What You'll Do

  • Support contract/agreement development, negotiations, of travel related spend to include,airlines, hotels, car rental, ground transportation. Responsible for implementing and monitoring compliance with agreed upon contracts.
  • Work with global travel management team to provide a consistent travel experience across all country locations with firm approved suppliers.
  • Work with corporate travel agency to resolve operational issues.
  • Monitor travel and expense related policy and recommend strategies to improve policy and compliance.
  • Support RFP, RFI processes, supplier evaluations and selection, account management and supplier performance reviews.
  • Benchmark, analyze, monitor and report on travel expenditures and support delivery of Leadership reports.
  • Provide strategic sourcing and payment support for all travel-related initiatives including meetings and events.
  • Work with travel team to:
    • Explore opportunities to enhance employee experience.
    • Understand and anticipate employee needs and travel preferences.
    • Respond quickly and proactively to travel requests.
    • Resolve issues/complaints.
    • Assist with duty of care initiatives.
    • Support travel related communications to the company which includes managing internal travel site and employee trainings.
    • Maintain industry certifications by attending annual conventions or local meetings, as necessary.
Basic Qualifications

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • 5 years' post graduate experience in the corporate travel industry; procurement and operations.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to travel to clients and FTI office(s) as needed.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; this position does not provide visa sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in negotiating travel vendor contracts (air, hotel & car).
  • Project management/implementation experience with travel systems (OBT, TMC, etc.).
  • Meeting planning/support experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office programs.
  • Travel industry certification preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of corporate business travel practices and marketplace with relevant experience related to identifying, implementing and managing a third party travel administrator{s} in a global environment.
  • Extensive customer service experience supporting traveler requests and issues; seeing them through resolution.
  • Ability to work with large amounts of data and report actionable recommendations to improve travel program.
  • Extensive knowledge of conference & event program design, sourcing, and contracting.
  • Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing principles, theories and processes.
  • Experience with developing and implementing strategies to enhance the employee experience.
  • Experience with corporate card administration.
  • Strong project management, process development and data modeling/analysis skills.
  • Proven effective cross-functional business team experience required.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to effect strategic direction.
