The Trauma-Informed Behavior Specialist at Rice Children’s Center is responsible for providing coaching and consultation to school personnel (teachers, support staff, clinicians administration, and agency stakeholders) on evidence-based best practices to effectively serve students who have experienced significant levels of trauma. The person in this role will also serve as the school-certified trainer in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) to newly hired and existing staff.
Education
Minimum of bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
Professional certification in Trauma Informed Care is preferred
Experience
Minimum of five 3 years of experience in the field of education or with children and youth with advanced social-emotional, mental health, and behavioral needs
Experience training or coaching team or staff in school and/or agency settings
Experience working closely with youth in care
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations
Certification in or in pursuit of Trauma Informed Specialist Certification
