Our client seeks an experienced OCC Director to lead their team in daily operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the success of daily bus and rail operations in the Portland Metro area, as well as developing and managing transportation programs and projects for the organization. Candidates with prior experience in transportation or radio dispatch/control center operations are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities of the Director of Operations Command Center
Oversee command center team ensuring quality of performance and services delivered.
Direct daily bus/rail system operations within the command center.
Ensure compliance with regulations and safety/operating rules.
Lead bus/rail system programs and projects (budgets, deliverables, logistics planning, etc.).
Monitor and approve program/project budgets and identify opportunities for cost savings.
Keep leadership informed of industry best practices and OCC operations, strategies, initiatives, and process updates.
Represent the organization in public affairs.
Director of Operations Command Center Qualifications
3+ years of supervisory/management experience in a control center and/or transportation operations setting.
Minimum of 8 years' experience in radio dispatch and control center operations.
Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Transportation, Logistics, Urban Planning, or related field.
TSSP (Transit Safety and Security Program) Certification a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Valid Class C driver's license required.
