Responsible for overseeing the site's technical training needs and organizing employee development. Lead, plan, develop, coordinate, direct, and audit employee onboarding. Manage the site training team to effectively and efficiently train processes to ensure operational employees are able to successfully perform and continuously improve at their jobs. Oversee and ensure that all production lines have functional training plans with corresponding task instructions.
Essential Job Duties/Key Accountabilities
Partner with plant leadership to develop and coordinate the plant training process to ensure employees are trained prior to performing a new position and/or task.
Manage direct reports by having clear direction, achievable expectations, and measurable performance goals while evaluating against Basic American Foods standards.
Delegate responsibilities and assignments. Give feedback, recognize, coach and develop direct reports.
Coordinate all aspects of the new hire onboarding process for operational employees and ensure all steps of the process are completed within the 60-day timeframe. Create and manage effective feedback loops with plant leadership and trainees.
Work with frontline leadership to develop, maintain, and improve training checklists, job aids, and job breakdowns.
Ensure integrity of the training processes.
Administer the record keeping and the training auditing process including providing auditing metrics to the plant manager and take appropriate corrective actions.
Act as a resource to coordinate and lead Continuous Improvement efforts in the plant. This will include training and coaching on the application of Lean principles and tools such as 5S, root-cause problem solving, visual controls, pull systems, kaizen events, etc. Monitor the results.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years of experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent years of training and experience
Background and experience training a manufacturing environment
Background in Lean manufacturing principles
Familiarity with instructional design concepts
