Training Manager

Our client is looking for a REMOTE, freelance Training Manager with experience in change management or digital transformation to start in July, for 3+ months, with the intent to convert to a permanent team member.

This role will start around 20 hours for 2 - 3 weeks then slowly ramp up to 40 hours per week once fully integrated into the team and projects.

As part of the client's Change Management team, the Training Manager will provide strategic, hands-on and consultative training support for a variety of mostly digital/technology transformations (i.e. migrations, new technology, enhancements, etc.) as well as non-technology-oriented transformations.

Training Manager Responsibilities

  • Develop training strategy with defined goals, objectives, training profiles and desired outcomes for assigned projects; socialize where needed
  • Advise internal teams on the development of their own training strategies or on training strategies developed for them by third-party partners
  • Along with director, provide occasional training to internal teams on drafting strategies and workplans
  • Manage and occasionally create assets for library of self-service resources (i.e. templates for training plans, how-to-guides, etc.)
  • Determine readiness requirements, criteria required for intervention and process for implementing mitigation strategies, if needed
  • Develop tactical training workplan (topic outline, courses, learning objectives, SMEs, content developers / owners, delivery methods / timing, communication needs (invites, replays, surveys, etc.), assessment opportunities, etc.
  • Manage content development, reviews, formatting / testing and approvals for core training assets
  • Draft ancillary training assets, as needed (FAQs, User Guides, Training Course Outlines, etc.)
  • Occasionally create decks or documents from templates to enhance or customize source materials from subject matter expert or technology vendors
  • Ensure accurate, couple steps ahead
  • Proactively connect with partners across the project team
  • Attend weekly team meetings and meetings relevant to specific projects

Training Manager Requirements

  • End-to-end training strategy and workplan development for change management projects/initiatives
  • Enterprise experience (multiple teams, varying projects)
  • Digital / technology transformation project experience
  • Hands-on with creating basic assets and templates
  • Strong project management skills
  • Microsoft Office, basic PowerPoint using templates
  • Smartsheets or similar for tracking projects
  • Asana or similar project management system nice to have
