Job Summary: The Training Coordinator is responsible for the overall execution of the Gibson Training Center’s (GTC) efforts. This position ensures that craftory level training staff follow the specified training program of Training Within Industry (TWI) Job Instruction (JI) and executes the schedule for all employee training. The Training Coordinator will also assist in the creation and effectiveness of the training tools used, such as the skills matrix, quality standards, individual training plans (ITP), and supporting video content.
Essential Functions
Ensure all employees use the TWI JI method when training at school or on the floor.
Act as SME for GTC modules when a department SME is not available.
Support the craftory’s team members in the sharing and execution of improvement suggestions to support the Operation Engagement Partnership efforts.
Identify areas of opportunity for improved safety and efficiency and deliver solution based feedback to Management.
Create and manage necessary training materials/scraps for trainees to practice on.
Track and replenish necessary levels of tools and supplies at school.
Assist in the creation of Standard Work documents, videos, and other tools for the support and education of trainees.
Function as facilitator for classroom events and presentations as needed.
Track and capture all relevant training data
Follow all new hires through their 30/60/90 acting as advocate and career support.
Required Skills/Abilities
Effective and active listening and communication skills.
Solid proficiency in Excel and Word.
Creating an environment of trust.
Enthusiasm for developing and connecting with others, and naturally provides context for the skills being developed.
Education And Experience
1-2 years of training experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Woodworking and/or guitar building experience is a must
Physical Demands
Must be able to stand all day and lift 12 pounds frequently throughout the day.
