Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Trailer Mechanic to perform maintenance, repairs, and inspections on a variety of trailers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in trailer mechanics, excellent problem-solving skills, and keen attention to detail. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety and reliability of our fleet.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repairs:
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on trailers, including brakes, lights, suspension systems, and tires.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, identifying and implementing effective solutions.
Conduct welding and fabrication work as needed.
Inspections:
Perform thorough inspections of trailers to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Identify potential issues and recommend preventive maintenance measures.
Document inspection results and maintain accurate records.
Parts & Inventory:
Maintain an organized inventory of parts and tools.
Order necessary parts and supplies, ensuring timely availability for repairs.
Keep detailed records of parts used and repairs performed.
Customer Service:
Communicate effectively with customers regarding repairs and maintenance needs.
Provide accurate estimates for repair costs and timelines.
Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality work and timely service.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Trailer Mechanic or in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of trailer systems, including brakes, suspension, and electrical.
Proficiency in welding and fabrication.
Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
