The Opportunity


Reporting to the Director, Sales Planning, this position will be the point person for day-to-day trade activity and includes but is not limited to: trade spend tracking within Exceedra TPM, ensuring that the sales team is updating TPM system consistently and accurately, while providing thorough post-promotional and ROI analysis, including actionable recommendations. 


What You Will Do


  • Be the Exceedra (TPM) system admin/super user, including:
  • Create reporting & usable tools within the system for Sales, Finance, Marketing, Demand Planning and ELT.
  • Assisting Director, Sales Planning in Exceedra training for Sales Managers and any other users to ensure proficiency with the system and trade processes
  • Dotted line oversight on deductions process within Exceedra TPM system and dotted line to Trade Deductions Analyst to ensure accuracy, auditing timing/inputs, finance deadlines for close, etc.
  • Create and own trade + promotional ROI analysis process
  • Share out key learnings, findings and suggestions on monthly basis for promotions with sales leads & leadership during Monthly Business Reviews and as needed basis.
  • Support execution of trade strategy to ensure plans and spending are in line with budget
  • Host monthly + quarterly trade scrubs and check-in meetings with Sales counterparts to discuss current trade position, flag any risks.
  • Communicate actionable insights to Sales around planned trade spending and actuals by leveraging Exceedra.
  • Identify potential overspend issues versus target spend rates and proactively work with Sales and Finance to address, align, and resolve outstanding accrual issues.
  • Work closely with Sales to ensure TPM is up to date with accurate trade deal information to support the forecasting process.
  • Support the Sales team with input, reviewing and processing program requests, assisting with the approval process within the Exceedra (TPM) system.
  • Collaborate with Sales lead on tier 3 + 4 accounts for annual trade planning, promotional plan building + execution, slotting payback(s) and trade sandboxing utilizing Offline Planner tool and Exceedra TPM system.
  • Assist with tier 1 + 2 trade planning accounts when applicable.
  • Prepare reports for ELT and cross-functional partners in regard to: Trade Spend assumptions, actual consumption and trade spend rates, and incoming deductions and forecasted volume.
  • Ad-hoc trade spend analysis and planning as needed.


Who You Are


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field
  • Minimum 5 years’ CPG trade promotion, sales, or customer development experience
  • Trade Management System experience required; experience with Exceedra preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office including Word, PowerPoint and Outlook, with high – advanced levels of proficiency in Excel
  • Syndicated POS (SPINS) proficiency
  • Thorough knowledge of retail promotions, shopper marketing and go-to-market strategies
  • Ability to successfully work cross-functionally
  • Strong leadership coupled with the courage, drive, and discipline to execute
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Proven record of building strong relationships both internally and externally with the ability to influence people, including building high level of trust and commitment
  • Self-motivated with a bias towards action
