We are looking to hire a Biofuels Trade Analyst. In this role you will research and study various renewable fuel markets, build and maintain models, monitor changes in market fundamentals, keep up-to-date knowledge of the regulations and communicate both internally and externally changes with potential impact on the market. Proficiency with data analysis languages is necessary for this position. This role requires great communication skills and the ability to remain organized in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Support the commercial efforts of ACT’s biofuels desk
  • Oversee ledger of all trading activity and work closely with the market Risk team to reconcile VaR and PnL numbers
  • Liaise daily between the trading desk and the Operations team
  • Learn about the data sources within the trading system and the trade lifecycle for all products traded at the desk to ensure accurate internal reporting
  • Build models and improve existing ones to improve efficiency in internal trade lifecycle management
  • Demonstrate your passion for in-depth data analysis by building and maintaining models to analyze and study both fundamentals and regulations of US and Canadian renewable fuels markets
  • Develop a deep understanding of the regulations governing the different markets that ACT participates in and stay up to date on upcoming changes and their potential impact on the market
  • Anticipate, analyze, and communicate industry developments
  • Leverage your data analysis to identify arbitrage opportunities and contribute to developing trade strategies that optimize the value of the desk’s flow
  • Develop an understanding of the landscape within the market including product knowledge, industry challenges, legislative and geopolitical changes

What We’re Looking For

  • 3-5 years of experience in market analytics/research
  • Strong analytical, research, and interpersonal skills
  • Has experience within physical commodities markets
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a fast-paced collaborative team environment
  • Organized, ambitious and great attention to detail
  • Experience in the renewable energy industry is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or related field
  • Advanced programming skills

Please note: this role is 100% in-office

Salary Range: $90k-$120k + discretionary bonus

Actual base pay may vary based on various factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, level and experience. The base pay is just one component of the total competitive compensation package for employees.
