Job Summary:

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Title Officer to join our team in Washington State. The Title Officer will be responsible for examining, researching, and verifying the title to real estate properties to ensure there are no issues that could affect the ownership. This role involves analyzing legal documents, preparing title reports, and working closely with clients, underwriters, and other real estate professionals to resolve any title defects and facilitate successful property transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Title Examination: Examine public and private records to establish a property's legal status and determine the presence of any claims, liens, encumbrances, or other title defects.
  • Document Analysis: Review legal documents, such as deeds, mortgages, liens, judgments, and easements, to assess their impact on property titles.
  • Title Reporting: Prepare detailed title reports, highlighting any issues or encumbrances and providing recommendations for resolution.
  • Risk Assessment: Assess and evaluate potential risks associated with title defects and provide guidance on resolving these issues to ensure clear and marketable titles.
  • Client Communication: Serve as a primary contact for clients, real estate agents, and lenders, providing updates and guidance throughout the title review process.
  • Problem Resolution: Work collaboratively with all parties involved to resolve title defects, including negotiating with lenders, attorneys, and underwriters as necessary.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures, in all aspects of title examination and reporting.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all title-related activities, decisions, and communications.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on changes in real estate laws, regulations, and industry best practices to maintain proficiency and compliance in title operations.
