Old Republic National Title Insurance Company, Ft Myers FL location is seeking an experienced Florida title examiner. In this role you will be responsible for single seat search and examination of the public records, issuance of title insurance commitments, Title Search Reports, Owner’s and Encumbrance Reports and other products as requested.

Job Description
Old Republic National Title Insurance Company, Ft Myers FL location is seeking an experienced Florida title examiner. In this role you will be responsible for single seat search and examination of the public records, issuance of title insurance commitments, Title Search Reports, Owner’s and Encumbrance Reports and other products as requested.
- This position may be hired as fully remote, provided the applicant is qualified to examine in the State of Florida. All applicants must reside in the United States. *
- Ability to read agent order and instructions to properly prepare finished product; commitment, TSR, Ownership and Encumbrance Report, foreclosure reports, revisions and updates for delivery as expected by agent.
- Research names for bankruptcy, state and federal tax liens and judgment information in local county public records and Search Systems (including but not limited to ATIDS, TitlePoint, Redvision; DataTree; DataTrace, and PACER).
- Collecting Publicly recorded documents affecting title to the land to be insured and the owners in title and creating a complete chain of title from those documents.
- Searching the county docket system effectively to discover unrecorded potential litigation and making sure foreclosures served all parties properly.
- Type Commitments.
- Properly label and store all documents in RamQuest/FileScan; require correspondence with agent and ORT staff to be properly labeled as well as all documents for search, requested product and documents
- Handle customer inquiries regarding title problems.
- Review documents (as needed or requested by the agent) prior to closing/recording and determine if they are sufficient to cure title defects and are in recordable format.
- Ability to read metes and bounds and acreage legal descriptions (preferred but not required).
- Ability to follow instructions for different delivery systems for agent integration
- At a minimum, the ability to work your scheduled office hours, Monday through Friday.
- Must be dependable and punctual.
- Ability to work overtime as requested and approved by supervisor preferred.
- Ability to accept supervision.
- Ability to foster, develop and maintain professional and collaborative working relationships.
- Must be able to get along with others, i.e., peers, supervisors, outside customers, and vendors.
- Must be personable, positive and a professional representative of the Company.
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of management, employees and customers by email, phone and in person. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
- Experience in Florida Title exam preferred.
- Working knowledge of real estate law.
- Ability to run simple legal descriptions.
- Abstracting knowledge is preferred.
- Must have ability to review Trusts, Probates, Divorce and Bankruptcy proceedings in addition to Tax and District Court suits.
- Must be computer literate.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills to respond to customer requests.
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure with set time restraints.
- Generally, a desk job.
- Must be able to occasionally work approved and requested overtime by supervisor and adjust to changes in schedule, as required.
- Must be consistently on time for work each day and have dependable attendance.
