The SVP Business Development & Growth, reporting directly to the Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy & Experience Office, is responsible for leading and facilitating the provider development growth strategies of Texas Health Resources.

Responsibilities include leading system revenue growth and business development efforts, driving sustainable growth aligned with current and future market growth plans. Plays a key leadership role in business innovation and strategic business models ensuring market specific planning is effectively facilitated and executed. Provides business development leadership grounded in business analytics, data, and predictive modeling.

The position works closely with THPG and SWHR network, aligning with their support services structure and teams when appropriate to develop and execute innovative growth strategies which improve operational performance and increase market share. This position will work closely with the SVP of Strategy and Market Development, finance, and channel leaders to lead and implement provider growth tactics as outlined in the THR growth plan and develop innovative growth models for approval and adoption.

This position will lead in-migration (outside DFW) growth strategies for THR. This responsibility will require developing focused regional market and service line plans in conjunction with SVP Strategy and Channel leaders and then leading execution and implementation of tactics.

The Senior Vice President has the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Collaborates effectively with senior leaders and physician leadership to identify opportunities, explore options to expand services and to continually improve the business performance of service lines and various entities. Works to build consensus in support of strategies and plans and executes decisions in a timely manner.
  • As needed as part of physician growth and/in migration strategies, leads the negotiation and execution of appropriate clinical affiliation, service level agreements, acquisition agreements that clearly stipulate financial terms, goals, outcomes, success metrics, roles, and responsibilities of the parties involved.
  • Lead physician growth strategy; develop and lead revenue generation and business development strategies and efforts.
  • Continually bring national best practices and innovative business models, both within and outside of health care, and incorporate best practices into business development and new business structures. Identify innovative ways to grow business, service lines and clinical programs development, platforms, and partnerships consistent with the mission.
  • Identify high priority strategic opportunities, risks, key capital projects and potential acquisitions and partnerships.
  • Develop and lead the execution of physician strategies to drive business growth; operationalize growth and physician alignment strategies.
  • Assess market development strategy and industry trends, leading to the generation of innovative ideas to improve current business plan and achieve desired results.
  • Participate in the system capital plan and budget development process for resourcing strategy goals.
  • Engage external business and industry experts to learn and influence business strategies, constantly remaining alert and forward-thinking about opportunities and risks in the industry.
  • Continually, and proactively work with Strategy to assess demographics, macroeconomics and competitive market issues impacting Texas Health; use data and market intel to analyze market dynamics, trends and competition.
  • Oversees strategies to support business development enable the delivery of new operating models to establish best practices across North Texas and outside DFW to improve THR’s market position.

  • Master’s Degree, MBA, MPG, or other advanced management degree is highly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree is required.
  • 10 years’ executive level experience required.
