Department Summary
In conjunction with the offices of Academic Advising and Student Success, Academic Testing Services supports UNT Dallas’s mission of empowering students, transforming lives, and strengthening communities by providing opportunities for the assessment of knowledge and skills relating to academic and professional goals.
Position Overview
The Testing Assistant provide frontline services to prospective and current students, test takers, and the general public. They assist by providing the necessary materials and parameters in which to complete their exams. Incumbents proctor tests, oversee placement testing for new and returning students, enter scores, and refer students to appropriate departments after testing.
Minimum Qualifications
High school education or equivalent is required.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Knowledge of: Policies and procedures related to admissions, registration, testing, and placement; Assessment and the interpretation and application of test results; Applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations; Available college and community resources and/or programs. Skills in: Researching and locating information on college website or information at communitybased organizations; Good time management; Providing excellent customer service. Ability to: Utilize computer technology and operate a variety of office equipment; Work with adult learners of various ethnic and cultural backgrounds; Remain calm in difficult situations and offer viable solutions; Effectively communicate in oral and written form; Work collaboratively in a fastchanging environment; Follow protocols and escalation procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications: Associates degree in a relevant field and one year of experience working in an administrative or other similar environment

Job Duties:
% - Assist with department processes; including, but not limited to: registration, data entry, ensuring completeness of testing applications, test scheduling and testing room seating arrangements. - ()
% - Maintain visual supervision of the candidates; observe candidates carefully to ensure that they are working in the right section of the test booklet or answer sheet, for collusion, cheating and other improprieties or irregularities. - ()
% - May use the following software: PeopleSoft, Word, Excel, various testing software - ()
% - Perform other duties, tasks and assignments as required. - ()
