A Test Engineer is needed for a multinational manufacturing company that produces and distributes trucks, buses and construction equipment, as well as marine and industrial drive systems in the Greensboro, NC area. This position will provide engineering support for new product development in Complete Vehicle (CV) area by coordinating and performing verification and validation tasks, managing outsourced testing, and analyzing data to support design conclusions.

Responsibilities
Plan, develop, schedule, and execute project verification and validation engineering activities of varying scale and complexity.
Provide technical guidance and direction to design engineers and technicians based on verification and validation expertise.
Prepare and communicate testing cost estimations for assigned testing.
Make decisions on types of testing, specify test procedures, instrumentation, and hardware used in testing designs.
Perform data analysis to support testing conclusions and document through engineering reports.
Core Responsibilities
Outsourced Braking Performance Testing:
Manage coordination, execution, and results for brake performance testing with external test suppliers.
Act as liaison between Test Supplier and company.
Articulation Testing
Perform suspension articulation testing to evaluate impacts of design and packaging changes to the complete vehicle.
Vehicle Weight Studies
Perform weight studies on vehicles to measure the impacts of new components on the total system.
Water Tightness Testing
Evaluate design changes or field issues by testing complete vehicle water tightness.
Miscellaneous Vehicle Testing/Measurements
Set up and perform smaller scale tests requiring knowledge of basic principles of instrumentation and data collection.

Support system functionality verification testing in:
Noise Vibration and Harshness (NVH)
Vehicle Dynamics (Handling, Braking, Ride)

Education, Experience, Knowledge, And Skills
Degree: Mechanical Engineering or similar Engineering field.
Experience: 1-3 years, preferably in the automotive industry.
Skills:
Exposure to data acquisition equipment and data processing/analysis.
strong communication skills for outsourced coordination.
Positive attitude, desire to learn, and ability to take on new tasks (self-learner).
Enjoys hands-on work.
Preferred: Baja or Formula SAE experience from college.
