One of our Automotive clients is looking for an experienced Test Engineer in Auburn Hills, MI
Description
The Battery Component Testing Engineer is responsible for ensuring that each kitted set of components for a high voltage traction battery are all tested and confirmed to be in working condition and within necessary specifications, and that all electronics are communicating properly prior to being brought to the assembly line for the battery build.
The Engineer will also assist in running battery End of Line Electrical Testing as needed, and assist with software and hardware troubleshooting and diagnosis.
The Engineer will need to be familiar with CAN Software, Data Analysis, Troubleshooting wiring/communication with hardware.
Proficiency with Excel and able to learn other proprietary computer software is required.
Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To
Ensure that Correct level of bootloader, firmware and software is installed in all components, including BPCM (Battery Pack Control Modules), battery modules and BDU’s (Battery Disconnect Units).
Measure voltages on all battery modules and confirm all modules and cells are within acceptable charge variation.
BDU and BPCM function with the electrical harness and verify communication between all electronic components.
Log their checks and the results of those checks in an electronic log.
Sign off on final kit release to build team.
In the case of test failures, the Engineer will perform initial root cause analysis and determine the corrective action, bringing in software or hardware team members as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent
Good working knowledge of automotive traction batteries.
Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action implementation, leading to successful issue resolution.
Self-starter and motivated to produce results and stay on schedule.
Demonstrated excellent communication skills across work teams.
High level of organization and attention to detail.
Good “people skills” and maintaining positive environment across work teams.
Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Google Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
Electrical Engineering degree
Proficient with Sharepoint and online databases.
5+ Years work experience
CAPL scripting experience
Experience with assembly and validation of automotive traction batteries or other electrical devices.
Additional Must HAVES
This position requires the Engineer to be located in the Chrysler Technical Center in Auburn Hills MI, specifically in the Pilot Plant at the Battery Assembly line.
A desk and computer will be provided.
Driven action oriented, self-motivated, operates with little supervision
Eager to learn and contribute
3YR MINIMUM Experience
No requirement to Drive a Stellantis Vehicle.
