Job Title: Freelance Developer

Department: Studio Services

Reports To: VP/Dir of Studio Services

Travel: 0%

FLSA Status: Exempt

Supervisory Responsibilities: No

What we’re looking for:

  • A freelance developer knowledgeable in WordPress/WPE who can build our new agency website
  • 4-5 month timeframe for build
  • Figma file will be provided to you at onset of interview

Requirements

You will:

  • Lead front and backend development on our agency WordPress site, gsdm.com
  • Collaborate with digital production, experience design, and the executive team throughout the site build
  • Determine appropriate software architecture and design
  • Write and/or review functional requirement documents and specifications
  • Address and debug issues reported by clients and peers
  • Write tests to support Continuous Integration
  • Incorporate and lead best practices including:
    • WCAG AA 2.2 (and future updates)
    • Data governance
    • Web security
  • Collaborate with the full time development team to onboard and transition them to take over the website once launched

You have:

  • Expert knowledge of front-end technologies: HTML 5, CSS 3, JavaScript, jQuery, and APIs
  • There is a 3D section of the site so 3D experience is preferred but not required
  • Comfortable working with Figma design files
  • Well-versed in customizing WordPress, including building a theme from scratch
  • Proficiency with source code versioning tools, such as GIT and Bitbucket
  • Basic understanding of web server setup and maintenance and are comfortable working with hosting providers
