About the Position

Reporting to the VP Sales and Marketing, we are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Technology and Payments Account Executive to join our team, focusing on new name sales within the local and state government sectors in the eastern region of North America. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales, a deep understanding of government procurement processes, and the ability to forge strong relationships with key decision-makers.


RESPONSIBILITIES & PRIMARY DUTIES


Key Responsibilities:

New Business Development:

  • Identify and target new sales opportunities within local and state government entities.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve quotas and expand market presence.
  • Generate leads through various channels including partners, networking, cold calling, and attending industry events.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in government agencies.
  • Understand clients' needs and tailor solutions to meet their specific technology and payment processing requirements.
  • Provide ongoing support to ensure client satisfaction and retention.

Sales Process Management:

  • Learn, understand and follow the Solution Sales Process utilized by Core.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle from prospecting to closing deals.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to government clients based on your understanding of our products and their fit for government entitles.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements in compliance with company policies.

Market Research and Analysis:

  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes impacting the government sector.
  • Provide feedback to internal teams regarding market needs and product enhancements.
  • Participate in government sector conferences, workshops and speaking engagements to enhance knowledge of the sector and Core solution opportunities within it.

Collaboration and Reporting:

  • Collaborate with internal teams including marketing, product development, account management, client engagement commercial operations and client operations to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, forecasts, and pipeline management using CRM tools.
  • Report regularly on sales performance and progress towards targets.


Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, preferably within the technology and payments industry.
  • Demonstrated success in selling to local and state government entities.
  • Proven ability to achieve and exceed sales targets.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of government procurement processes and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
