Technical Services Manager

The Technical Services Manager will oversee and optimize mining operations, managing technical services including ore control modelling, planning and geological activities to ensure that production goals are met safely and sustainably. This role will also be responsible for managing Contractor activities to ensure that targets and plans are met.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage technical services functions such as geological modeling, mine planning, and reserve estimation.
• Develop and implement short-term and long-term mine plans to optimize production efficiency and maximize resource recovery.
• Oversee exploration activities, including drilling programs and resource delineation efforts.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies related to health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, metallurgy, and environmental departments to achieve operational targets.
• Monitor operational performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Prepare and manage departmental budgets and resource allocation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in technical and operational roles within the mining industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
• Proven experience in mining operations with a strong understanding of open pit and/or underground mining methods.
• Expertise in mine planning software (e.g., Surpac, MineSight) and proficiency in CAD software.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
• Strong leadership abilities with experience managing and developing a diverse team.
• Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across departments and levels within the organization.
