Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Tech Support Specialist to join our technology team. This position reports to the Technology Director and will play a crucial role in supporting the technology needs of our students and staff. The ideal candidate will be passionate about technology and education, have strong problem-solving skills, demonstrate high levels of intuition and independence, exhibit professionalism, excellent communication and customer service abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Device Management: Ensure user satisfaction by distributing, maintaining, and troubleshooting devices, including Chromebooks, Apple and Windows devices, projectors, interactive flat panels, networked printers, VOIP phone systems, Chromecast, document cameras, and other equipment. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise.
    • Inventory Management: Oversee device inventory, ensuring all devices are properly labeled with serial numbers and user information, and maintain accurate inventory records.
    • Monitoring: Regularly monitor device operating system versions, expiration dates, and recent activity to ensure optimal performance and security.
    • Repairs: Assess whether repairs can be completed in-house or should be outsourced. Manage the repair process and handle the logistics of shipping damaged devices to the repair center.
    • Google Workspace: Maintain a detailed account of district users and tech resources within Google Workspace, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
    • Website Maintenance: Support and maintain the school district’s website.
    • Customer Service: Provide support to staff and students for their technology needs. Offer intuitive solutions and independent problem-solving to ensure swift and effective support.
      • Ticket Management: Identify, categorize, and address issues through the ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution and proper documentation.
      • Training: Provide training and support for staff on how to submit tickets and manage devices.
    • Procedures and Documentation: Maintain procedures and documentation for ticket submissions, device repairs, and other support processes.

    • Chromebooks, Windows, Apple, interactive flat panels (clevertouch), ALMA SIS, Google Workspace, Solarwinds Ticketing, Verkada, Fluentstream, Clever, Meraki, MalwareBytes, Securly

    Qualifications

    • Some college or equivalent experience in a related field.
    • Experience with Office, Google apps, and cloud-based networking preferred.
    • Ability to lift and install display devices.
    • Proven teamwork skills and a passion for technology and education.
    • Strong problem-solving skills, high levels of intuition, and the ability to work independently.
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
