This three-week program, usually scheduled in June ahead of the academic year, is tailored to equip incoming non-traditional students with essential skills and knowledge for their chosen program. focuses on introducing basic medical science courses, fostering efficient academic learning skills, and promoting wellbeing competencies in an interprofessional environment.
Role Overview
You will play a pivotal role in guiding our cohort through their journey. Under supervision, you'll collaborate with the entire cohort, providing support during the Medical Gross Anatomy (MGA) lecture and lab sessions. Your involvement may extend to other courses like Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine or the Skeletal System, as well as addressing program-specific needs. Additionally, you'll ensure adherence to LEAD guidelines and documentation policies.
Key Responsibilities
Effective Communication: Utilize strong verbal and written communication skills to engage with faculty, staff, students, and external contacts.
Educational Support: Prepare and deliver daily lectures, administer exams, and facilitate a conducive learning environment within the cohort.
Student Support: Foster an atmosphere of trust and support among students, addressing any academic, professional, or personal concerns that may arise.
Collaboration: Work closely with content professors to manage student issues and contribute to the smooth operation.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's Degree required.
Experience: Completion of at least one year of doctoral or professional experience.
Working Hours
Preparation time may require up to 4 hours over a two-week period, followed by the 3-week assignment from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with hours subject to variation based on assignment.
Physical Demands
This role may involve occasional lifting (up to 10 pounds) and typical office-related tasks. A valid driver's license is required to fulfill job responsibilities.
Work Environment
Duties are primarily conducted in a standard office setting, with minimal exposure to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level is moderate due to office equipment and normal faculty/student interactions.
