We are currently seeking a dedicated Remote Teacher of the Visually Impaired to join our team on a contract basis in Exeter, PA. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to provide specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments, empowering them to reach their full potential.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of students with visual impairments.
Provide direct instruction and support in essential areas such as braille literacy, orientation and mobility, and access to assistive technology.
Foster collaboration with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure the seamless implementation of appropriate accommodations and modifications.
Conduct thorough assessments to gauge students' educational needs and track their progress over time.
Maintain meticulous documentation of student progress and the services provided, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
Demonstrated experience working with students with visual impairments, including proficiency in braille instruction.
Familiarity with current best practices in the field of visual impairment education.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, essential for building strong partnerships with stakeholders.
