The Teacher utilizes current strategies and theories to plan, organize and implement structured lessons to instruct K12 students.

Primary Job Duties/Responsibilities : List, in the order of importance or time spent, the essential and position specific duties/tasks performed by the position. Essential Duty 1

Instruct students in an in-person classroom environment through lectures, discussions, visual aids, instructional strategies, and other effective teaching methods for student comprehension.

Prepares lessons and outlines to use in class that effectively cover the material.

Essential Duty 3

Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.

Administers various types of assessments to monitor student's comprehension of the material.

Assist students who need extra help with tutoring. Guides and counsels students with adjustment or academic problems or special academic interests.

Education And Experience Requirements

Education (training/degree):

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in a related field required.

Master's, Specialist, or Doctorate Degree from an accredited institution in a related field preferred.

Licenses, Certifications Or Registrations Required

Must hold or be eligible for a certificate or license issued by the Tennessee Department of Education with an applicable endorsement.

Experience

Work experience gained through education and certification/license requirements.

Meal Deduction - Most Bransford office and district level employee have a meal deduction. They are scheduled 8.5 hours per day and get an hour lunch. Eligibility Requirements

  • The individual must have fulfilled all MNPS hiring procedures.
  • The teacher must be certified and serve in one of the following hard to staff areas: English/Language Arts (ELA), Math, Science, Social Studies, Exceptional Education, English Learners, or JROTC.
  • The teacher may already be an employee of MNPS who is not in an MNPS priority school but has agreed to a placement in an MNPS priority school.
  • Current Tennessee teachers must have an overall observation score of 3, 4, or 5 as indicated by a TDOE approved evaluation framework.
  • The teacher is not eligible to receive this stipend if he or she is already working in an MNPS priority school or is voluntarily transferring from one priority school to another within MNPS.
  • The teacher must begin work prior to September 1, 2023; otherwise, the stipend may be prorated.
