Tax Director

RemX is pleased to represent a Knoxville, TN company in its hire for a DIRECTOR OF INCOME TAX opportunity. As a newly restructured company, this company is preparing to bring all tax responsibilities back in house as it is currently outsourced.

The VP of Tax is ready to hire a Director over the income side as they build out the tax team. He expects this department to grow and add 1-2 staff members as direct reports to this Director.

IDEAL PROFILE:

• BS in Accounting required
• CPA license required
• 10+ years Big 4 and/or large, publicly traded company experience preferred
• Experience with consolidated US federal income tax returns, multi-state tax returns & income tax accounting (ASC740) required

RESPONSIBILITIES TO INCLUDE:

• Prepare interim and annual income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740 – Income Taxes for VP of tax review.
• Review (and prepare as needed) federal and multi-state income and franchise tax returns and all supporting workpapers
• Review (and prepare as needed) quarterly estimated tax payments
• Resolve tax notices and other miscellaneous tax controversy
• Assist VP of Tax in identifying and implementing tax planning and process improvement ideas
