Responsibilities*

  • You?ll support the Talent Acquisition Specialist to implement intelligent sourcing strategies to identify and engage active and passive candidates with greatest potential for success at Michigan Medicine.
  • Ensure candidate communications support a strong employment brand that attracts Top Talent in a professional and consultative manner.
  • Keep abreast of sourcing best practices and recommend process improvements to support continuous improvement of candidate recruitment.
  • Assist the Michigan Medicine Talent Team to establish, maintain, and grow community relationships to ensure a steady pipeline of qualified talent, adapting easily to change and presenting process flow solutions.
  • Full-cycle candidate management, specifically, building successful candidate profiles, establishing rapport, appropriate candidate assessment and decision-making, and effectively selling, negotiating and closing.
  • Provide sourcing support to workforce planning initiatives for new building activations and expansions.
  • Provide guidance consistent with Michigan Medicine institutional employment policies and procedures, state and federal employment law, to promote efficient, legal and inclusive hiring practices.
  • Utilize sourcing strategies to ensure workforce diversity goals are met.
  • As part of the Talent Acquisition team, travel to recruitment and community events, as needed to ensure appropriate Michigan Medicine employer presence.
  • Ensure productivity expectations are being met to source, screen, and submit viable candidates to open positions.
  • Assist in posting jobs on job boards, professional/social media, schools, and association career sites.
  • Support administrative processing of job postings, salary setting, and employment offers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications*

  • A focus on customer service and professional communication skills.
  • Passion to engage, motivate and work with others within a diverse environment.
  • Ability to travel within the University of Michigan Health System Campus and to local events as needed.


Desired Qualifications*

  • Bachelor?s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Human Resources or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of one year of Human Resources related experience.
  • Experience with passive candidate sourcing and marketing via online platforms, including a knowledge of Boolean language and developing search strings.
  • Knowledge and experience with Applicant Tracking Systems, Behavioral Assessments, and Digital Interviewing.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.

Job openings are posted for a minimum of seven calendar days. The review and selection process may begin as early as the eighth day after posting. This opening may be removed from posting boards and filled any time after the minimum posting period has ended.
