Systems & Network Administrator

The ideal candidate for a Systems & Network Administrator role is someone with a solid technical background, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work well under pressure. They should possess a mix of technical certifications and hands-on experience, coupled with strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders. This role reports to the IT Manager of the Americas, working with national colleagues and collaborating with our leadership team in France.

Systems & Network Administrator Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE: 3 years of experience as a system and network administrator with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field, or equivalent experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.

Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, CCNA, MCSE, CISSP).

Skills

• Required: Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, customer service approach, strong knowledge of network protocols and security principles, ability to work independently and in a team.
• Preferred: Bilingual (French or Spanish), familiarity with Windows OS, Citrix, solid understanding of networks, leadership, and analytical abilities.
  
  

Additional Information

• Travel: Ability to travel internationally and train with the IT Department (CAM division in France) within the first six months of employment.
• Work Environment: Comfortable working within a manufacturing/industrial environment, including frequent lifting/carrying (50lbs – 75lbs), climbing, and standing.
• Communication: Effective communication is crucial. You will need to communicate and collaborate with colleagues working on different shifts, and in different countries, ensuring smooth handovers and sharing relevant information.

Range Of Vital Responsibilities

• Contributing to the evolution of Information System architecture, aligned with the IT Department's roadmap and emerging technology.
• Supporting in the setup and maintenance of switches.
• Participating in Active Directory management and overseeing storage administration.
• Assisting in the update and oversight of security protocols for firewalls, Active Directory, antivirus, and proxies.
• Contributing to the oversight of backups, IT assets, and licenses.
• Collaborating on cybersecurity protocols and strategic planning.
  
  

Systems & Network Administrator Role & Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting & Support: Act as the first point of contact for IT issues. Respond to IT service requests and incidents (Tier 1 Support), escalate complex problems (Tier 2 Support and above), and provide training for users.
• System Administration: Maintain operating systems (Windows) on servers and workstations. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights. Monitor system performance and escalate issues to central IT support as needed.
• Network Administration: Implement and maintain local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN). Manage network devices and security measures. Ensure optimal network performance.
• Infrastructure Management: Install, manage, and ensure the reliability of hardware. Collaborate with vendors for hardware and software procurement.
• Security: Implement security measures to protect systems and networks. Conduct regular security audits and respond to security incidents.
• Documentation: Create and maintain system configurations, procedures, and policy documentation. Keep an inventory of hardware and software assets.
• Upgrades & Maintenance: Plan and execute system and network upgrades. Apply patches and updates.
