Systems Administrator

Location: Bethesda, MD (Hybrid)

Position Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing IT infrastructure and ensuring its optimal performance and security. This role involves collaborating with external vendors to implement new infrastructure solutions, managing network infrastructure, and ensuring timely remediation of vulnerabilities.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Manage and configure on-prem and virtual Linux servers, with a focus on Ubuntu 14.
• Provide support and maintenance for Windows 10 operating systems.
• Utilize Microsoft Azure for cloud computing tasks and infrastructure management.
• Demonstrated expertise in managing and configuring VMware.
• Remediate vulnerabilities in a timely manner based on risk, adhering to specified timelines.
• Work with external vendors to implement new infrastructure solutions.
• Manage network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security.
• Provide support and maintenance for applications.
• Install released security patches and remediate critical and high vulnerabilities in systems processing government information expeditiously.
• Provide end-user support and resolve technical issues.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or any related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Systems Administration.
• Must have any of the following certifications: CompTIA A+, Net+, or Sec+; ITIL 4; CCNA; Azure Cloud certification; RHCSA.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
