Cybersecurity-focused System Support Engineer

Technical Assistance

  • Provide immediate technical support and troubleshooting, with a focus on cybersecurity, to resolve system-related issues encountered during testing and assessments.

Supporting Tests/Assessments

  • Ensure testing teams receive specialized technical support tailored towards cybersecurity requirements, enabling efficient execution of their tasks.

Requirements

 Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in technical support, IT operations, system administration, application administration, and deployments.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and familiarity with various operating systems and network configurations.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to thrive under pressure.

Experience

 Server Administration

  • Implement, manage, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022) including Active Directory and Group Policy, with a focus on cybersecurity best practices.
  • Manage and support Linux servers (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL) with stringent security measures and patch management.

Networking

  • Design, implement, and manage network protocols such as TCP/IP, VPN, VLAN with a cybersecurity mindset.
  • Troubleshoot and support physical or virtual networking devices including routers, switches, and firewalls, ensuring robust security configurations.

Applications & Cloud Services

  • Implement and manage Microsoft Office 365 services including Exchange Online and SharePoint Online, emphasizing cybersecurity protocols.
  • Support cloud platforms like Azure and AWS, ensuring stringent security configurations for services such as EC2 and Azure Active Directory.

Cybersecurity

  • Implement advanced security measures and perform thorough vulnerability scanning using tools like Nessus, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
  • Manage and support endpoint protection and intrusion detection systems, continuously monitoring and mitigating security risks.

Virtualization & Containerization

  • Implement and manage virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V with a strong focus on cybersecurity measures.
  • Support containerization with Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring secure deployment and scaling of applications.

Scripting & Automation

  • Develop and maintain scripts in PowerShell and Bash for task automation and system management, integrating cybersecurity measures.
  • Implement automation workflows using Terraform and Ansible to enhance security posture through efficient infrastructure provisioning.
