System Administrator I

Description

JOB SUMMARY

  • Responsible for day to day support of enterprise systems such as Active Directory, System Center Configuraiton Manager (SCCM), Exchange, Microsoft SQL Server, Windows Server operating systems, Linux Server operating systems, VMware, MEDITECH, UCS blade server, physical rackmount server and security applications. Monitor the configuration and performance of enterprise systems and the distribution of related updates to network clients. Ensure that all production enterprise systems have valid periodic backups.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines
  • Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission and vision of the organization
  • Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures
  • Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self education, attends ongoing educational programs)
  • Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • General environment: Works in a well-lighted, air-conditioned area, with moderate noise levels.
  • May be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights.
  • May be required to change from one task to another of different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.
  • Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur.
  • May be scheduled as needed including overtime
  • Long-distance or air travel as needed - not to exceed 10% travel.

Qualifications

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 8+ years Proven on the job related experience (Required)
  • 2 - 3 years Network Administration (Preferred)
  • 2 - 3 years Experience in TCP/IP networks, with routing and switching (Preferred)
  • 2 - 3 years Experience in Operating systems; especially Microsoft server (Preferred)
  • 2 - 3 years Experience supporting and maintaining application software; (i.e., faxserver, Exchange mail and Microsoft Office) (Preferred)

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSURES

  • Preferred Certifications/Licensures: Microsoft Certified Systems Administrators (MCSAs), CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA)
