The Woodstock Athletic Club at the Woodstock Inn & Resort is seeking a Personal Trainer to join the team.
The Woodstock Athletic Club at Woodstock Inn & Resort is the area’s premier facility for health and recreation. The club offers lessons from USPTA-certified instructors, court rentals, swimming, cardio and weight equipment, movement and cycling studios, outdoor trails, fitness and yoga classes, and an indoor pool 一 all under its 42,000-square-foot roof.
One of the most beloved resorts in New England, The Woodstock Inn & Resort is seeking a swim coach at the Woodstock Athletic Club.
Build strong confident swimmers through our junior swim program. Primarily responsible for swimmers ages 6 months through 12 years.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Provide a safe environment to train and motivate children learning to swim, and in advancing swimming skills and techniques.
Plan and supervise daily classes, with scheduling agreed upon by the Athletic Club Director.
Plan and supervise private and semi-private children’s swimming lessons, with scheduling guidance from the Athletic Club Director
Ensure group lessons, and private clients, are always supervised.
Evaluate individual student performance, explain techniques and assist with skills improvement.
Monitor aquatics facility and guests, and assure compliance to rules, regulations, policies and procedure; assure facilities are maintained in a clean and safe condition. Promote a positive recreation environment.
Willing to listen and collaborate with parents and other athletic club staff.
Ability to work with a variety of ages and levels of swimmers.
Prevent accidents through the enforcement of policies, rules, regulations, and ordinances governing the conduct of swimming pool patrons
Ensure the pool deck is clean of swim team equipment prior to leaving practice time.
In the event of an emergency be able to carry out the Emergency Action Plan.
Requirements
CPR/First aid and AED certification
National Swim Coach Certification
Experience teaching swim lessons
Lifeguard certification is preferred
Experience working with children/youth is preferred
Be able to stay in the water for 1-3 hours per day.
Must be able to lift 50lbs.
Communicate with guests, visitors, and resort employees to their understanding.
Use sight to perform job functions.
Ability to provide articulately constructed professional communications.
Ability to properly communicate all complaints, problems, and matters of concern to the appropriate Department Manager.
Ability to independently maintain work schedule.
Knowledgeable regarding company policies, standards and procedures.
Minimum age is 18.
